For a very special collaboration, Tribeca-based BatteryDance troupe performed with Mark Handforth’s solo exhibition Half-Sleep-City as their muse. The five dancers: Sarah Housepian, Vivake Khamsingsavath, Jillian Linkowski, Amy Saunder and Razvan Stoian, improvised in response to the sculptures’ forms and the installation’s landscape. 

“I think of these sculptures as dancers anyway, so it’s really taking that dance into reality,” Handforth says of the collaboration. Half-Sleep-City is on view at our Tribeca location through July 28.
