H x W x D - Sculptural works by Martin Kippenberger, Paul McCarthy, Reinhard Mucha, Fischli & Weiss, and Rachel Whiteread - Exhibitions - Luhring Augustine

Luhring Augustine is pleased to present a selection of sculptural works from both gallery and non-gallery artists.  Among the highlights of the exhibition are classic works by Martin Kippenberger, Fischli and Weiss and a wall vitrine by Reinhard Mucha.

Newer works in the exhibition are by Rachel Whiteread and Paul McCarthy, both present sculptures that have been cast from a mold, but with distinctly different results.  Following the closing of the our preceding exhibition of her work, Rachel Whiteread will shows a unique cast iron floor piece that was a central work in her recent survey show at the Serpentine Gallery. The cast was taken from the stone floor of the old Haus der Kinst museum in Munich; it shows years of wear on the floor and immortalizes them in bronze. Paul McCarthy premieres two new sculptures that demonstrate his continued exploration of material, form and process.  In this presentation he shows a sculptural portrait of a dog wearing the form of the Guggenheim Museum as a hat on his head.  The maquette and the cast sculpture are shown along side each other revealing the development of his process.
