This exhibition of works by Ragnar Kjartansson at the Reykjavik Art Museum is the most comprehensive museum display to date in his homeland, Iceland. The building of Hafnarhús will be taken over completely.
The exhibition reflects the artist's ode to art in all its glory, to music, theater, film, literature and, naturally, visual arts. It brings the audience recent works by the artist in the context with selected older ones, spanning an exceptional period of rapid success in the international art world. Few of the works have previously been exhibited in this country.
The tone is hit with a three-fold program of live performance works in which artists will be present during opening hours, seven days a week, activating the fascinating work of Ragnar.
